Old becomes new: wooden bowls with a history
The Tgesa Romana is in the middle of renovation - and yet the past lives on. The old wood from the bar, which was removed during the core renovation, does not simply end up in the bin. Instead, it is given a second life: In the form of handmade bowls created by a local craftsman with great skill and passion.
A piece of history you can touch
The bowls are made by Beni Sonder from Saloufthe creative mind behind SonderArt. He knows how to read and shape wood and give it a new purpose. "Wood as a natural product has fascinated me for as long as I can remember," he says. "The structure, the smell, the warmth - all this makes it much more than just a material for me." That fits well - because soon we want to serve our fragrant dishes in these wonderful bowls. Local wood meets local ingredients - combining pleasure for all the senses. Each bowl is unique - just like our dishes - characterized by the traces of time and at the same time made for the future.
Sustainable. Regional. Connected.
For us at Tgesa Romana, Beni Sonder's wooden bowls are far more than just a beautiful detail. They stand for what is important to us: preserving what has endured and giving it a new form. Just as the hotel carries its soul after the renovation, each bowl also tells a piece of our history. At the same time, the project demonstrates our close ties with the region, as we consciously work with local craftsmen who share our values - authenticity, sustainability and appreciation of the material. A fine example of how something new and meaningful can be created from something old.
Soon available here too?
The bowls are currently part of the equipment and decoration of the Tgesa Romana. But perhaps our guests will soon be able to purchase one of them and take a piece of Tgesa home with them. A memento that stands for craftsmanship, history and the warmth of our parlor.
