The new Tgesa Romana is taking shape between unplastered walls and freshly laid floors! The idyllic, somewhat outdated village hotel and restaurant is currently being transformed into a unique mountain residence with heart and character. Let's take a look behind the building site walls.
With great attention to detail, the Gruber siblings Daliah, Mirco and Sascha are working flat out to reinvent the house - without losing its soul. How do they do it? With a lot of passion, great visions and talented craftsmen and women from the region.
DUFTENDES HERZSTÜCK: Pizzeria and restaurant
Mmmh, you can almost smell it, the Gion e Batist pizza fresh from the wood-fired oven. Things are really coming to life in the pizzeria and restaurant: Ceilings and floors are already finished, now it's time to plaster and sand. Carpets and floor coverings will soon be added - then the new heart of Tgesa Romana will be ready for its guests. For Daliah and her daughter Alicia, a very special realm is being created here: Daliah is taking over the overall management, while Alicia will be responsible for service in future. Together with Mirco, mother and daughter are shaping the new face of the Tgesa Romana - with a lot of passion, a clear signature and a room that is already full of anticipation.
The kitchen - Mirco's dream comes true
The kitchen has been moved from the first floor to the first floor - and this is where you can feel Mirco's anticipation the most. The floors have been prepared, the floor tiles are currently being laid and the new, custom-made kitchen equipment will arrive in mid-October. It will take around two weeks to set up - then Mirco's new realm will be ready. For him, the chef, this is a dream come true: a kitchen that he was able to (co-)plan himself from scratch, with optimized processes and space for his ideas. This is where he will cook, laugh and try things out in future - just as he has always wanted.
FROM THE SKI ROOM DIRECTLY TO THE WINE CELLAR
A lot is also happening outside. A new opening from the cellar to the outside provides direct access for guests. In future, a new staircase will take them from the ski room directly outside - practical and convenient. A new guest area is being created in the basement, which provides an experience as soon as you enter: the path leads past the new wine cellar, Sascha's pride and joy. This is where his passion for wine is combined with his vision of giving guests a taste of authenticity and enjoyment.
With heart, roots and a view to the future
Behind the Tgesa Romana are three siblings from Savognin who want to do more than just run a hotel. They rely on local craftsmen, create jobs (in addition to some new ones, there are many familiar faces in the team) and thus preserve culture and added value in the village. Everyone brings their passion to the table: Sascha the wine and finances, Daliah the management, Mirco the kitchen. Plasterers and craftsmen are still at work, but the big steps have been taken. If everything continues to go according to plan, the Tgesa Romana will open its doors at the beginning of December this year - as a modern, welcoming mountain hotel, rooted in Savognin and ready for the future.

Residenza Romana: Our new vacation rentals
The Tgesa Romana now offers six newly renovated retreats with style. Our 2½ to 4½ room apartments offer space for singles, couples and families. From February 2026, the jewels will be ready for occupancy.
You can buy the apartments now or rent them later, as part of our concept of managed holiday apartments.
