A new space for great wines and convivial moments: In the Tgesa Romana, a wine cellar opens up that tells stories - of travel, rarities and the joy of sharing special bottles with guests.
When the snow falls softly outside and the village slowly comes to rest, a room with a very special atmosphere opens up downstairs: the new Tgesa Romana wine cellar. Protected by thick walls and supported by cozy warmth, a place has been created here that tells of travel, encounters and the love of good wine. Personally curated, close to the region and yet with a view of the world - for all those who have always enjoyed wine or would like to rediscover it.
The small map: rooted in the region
Our small wine list is perfect for anyone looking for something uncomplicated after a day in the mountains. It focuses on the obvious - in the best sense of the word: Graubünden with its wines full of character, complemented by selected wines from Ticino, South Tyrol and Valtellina. There are also some classic accompaniments that have proven themselves over the years. Wines that go well with our cuisine, with dinner after a day on the slopes - and with cozy evenings in the warm light of the Tgesa.
The big map: A collection with a history
And then there is the menu, which we have been looking forward to introducing for a long time and which is much more than just a list of wines: part of Sascha Gruber's private collection will soon be accessible to our guests. What has been collected over decades of travel, encounters with winegrowers and in cellars all over the world will find its place here.
This selection includes rarities from France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and the USA. Many of them bear the hallmarks of the years in which Sascha lived in America and visited many wineries in person. The US selection in particular is unusually rich - a rarity in the Alpine region. This is complemented by great champagne houses and selected classics.
The idea behind the menu is simple and special at the same time: great wines at fair prices, so that they don't stay in the cellar but are opened - for evenings when time doesn't matter.
Kitchen and cellar - a harmonious pair
Our culinary concept remains deliberately simple and honest. A fine piece of meat from the charcoal grill, a hearty dish from Mirco Gruber's kitchen - that's all it takes for a wine to have a profound effect. No staging, no overloading. Simply good food that leaves room for the essentials.
